Stay in the Back Country
Stay in a back country hut, enjoy an outdoor bath and take in the amazing night sky. Enjoy the rustic Mud Hut with views of the tussock high country or the Slate Hut offers a great sunset view.
Looking for a few creature comforts after your day on the trail, stay at the farm. The Red Shed is a converted wool shed sleeping two. The original farm homestead is comfortable and has a selection of rooms available.

With 27kms of trail to enjoy, this private, cross-country mountain trail with accommodation is perfect for those looking to get off the beaten track and away from the crowds. Suitable for walkers, runners, mountain bikers and all types of adventure seekers. There’s something for everyone at Welcome Rock Trails.
The trail is set in the high country amongst the tussocks, it is a single track trail, 21kms of which has been hand built using a pick and shovel over a two-year period. The trail opened to the public in 2014. Two back country huts are available for guests to book for the night, both can sleep four. Farm accommodation is also available at the bottom of Welcome Rock Trails, a converted old wool shed which sleeps two and the original farm homestead has been configured as a lodge with shared kitchen/lounge and bathroom facilities and three comfortable private bedrooms.
A variety of options are available including, self-guided trips with or with transport, day trips, overnight, guided and 4WD trips.
Prior payment and booking is required online before embarking on this journey.
