Introducing Sierra Fife

We love nothing more than to meet our trail users and find out what they love about the Queenstown Trail. This month we bumped into 15 month old Sierra from Queenstown. One of our youngest trail users, Sierra tells me she loves hitting the trails with her mum and she especially likes it when mum goes downhill FAST!

Sierra riding Lake Hayes

WHO? Sierra Fife, I’m 15 months old and a passionate biker.

WHAT BRINGS YOU TO THE QUEENSTOWN TRAIL TODAY? A leisurely ride with my Mum enjoying the sun while it shines. Hopefully we’ll stop for a play along the trail.

WHAT DID YOU ENJOY MOST? The birds that fly in front of the bike and the ducks on the lake. Sometimes you can see rabbits jumping across the trail too.

WHAT BIKE ARE YOU RIDING? I’m on Dad’s bike, I have my own special seat, it’s an I-bert.

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE QUEENSTOWN TRACK? I like all of the trails, especially when there’s other kids to wave at and say Hi. The fast and bumpy sections are lots of fun, I sing and hum on these sections so my voice vibrates. The Edgar Bridge is great to walk across and look down at the river far below and I do love the Arrowtown Trail, there’s so many birds and the river runs all the way alongside the trail.

It's great to see parents getting their kids out on the trails at such an early age and its so easy these days with kit like the i-Bert seat. We'd love to hear from more parents who ride regularly with their children. If you'd like to feature in #talesfromthetrail get in touch with [email protected]
