Gibbston River Trail - GPS Tracking - all in a day's work
Hi my name is Ronnie Baker and I am stoked to have joined the team here at the Queenstown Trails Trust. As an avid mountain biker, cycle commuter and general lover of the Queenstown Lakes District, I feel as though I have found my dream job in helping facilitate the expansion and continued enjoyment of our community cycle trail network.
One of the first tasks to complete is to gps track our trails to ensure all of our data is correct. Perfect! That means it’s bike time! I headed out onto the Gibbston River Trail yesterday in glorious sunshine complete with camera, note book, gps tracker and lots of sunscreen. It was great to see so many trail users from all walks of life – some sampling local wines, some enjoying boosting up the rises on e-bikes and some quietly taking in the stunning views of the Kawarau river that this section of trail rewards you with.
Finishing with some light refreshment at the Gibbston Tavern, this really wasn’t a bad day at the ‘office’!
