Introducing the Chapman-Olla Family
It's August and finally the first snow of the season arrives and touches the ground, so what better time to hit the trails in search of hardy Queenstown Trail users. We found the Chapman-Olla Family out and about near the Twin Rivers Ride.
Introducing the Chapman-Olla Family #talesfromthetrail
WHO? Me (Giulio), Ruth, our small person Franco aged 2.9 and our dog Olive (Hungarian Wire Haired Vizsla).
WHAT BRINGS YOU TO THE QUEENSTOWN TRAIL? Everything, we ride on it, work on it (Giulio is an Engineer for OPUS who do a lot of work for Queenstown Trail), walk on it, relax on it and run on it.
WHY? Cause it's amazing, great off season training (and on season training), we can get away from the rat race and get back to nature, being on the trail makes you feel like you are not in a city. Ohh and access to places that you previously could not easily get to.
WHERE ARE YOU RIDING? Shotover Country (new connector trail) to Twin Rivers Ride. We thought we'd get out and check out the snow.
WHAT BIKE ARE YOU RIDING – I ride a Niner Jet 9 RDO (carbon go fast bike), my wife rides a Gary Fisher hard tail (saying that Ruth has been stealing my bike recently and Iv been riding the Gary Fisher with Franco on the front of the handle bars in his Ibert seat) and Franco is currently on his recycled plastic wishbone (The RE Bike's frame is made from 100% post-consumer recycled carpet with glass fibre added for strength …its really cool !)
WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE QUEENSTOWN TRACK? I think it’s Arrowtown to Bungy, it has it all, Coffee and cake, structures, bridges, underpasses the works. We also love the Frankton Track and riding from Shotover Country (home) out to Bungy.
