Introducing Alessandro Bordon

We love nothing more than to hit the trails and meet our trail users. We want to get to know you, find out who you are, which parts of the trail you are riding and what you LOVE about our fantastic network. If you want to feature in #talesfromthetrail get in touch by emailing lou@queenstowntrail.org.nz.

In May we bumped into Alessandro Bordon from Brazil riding in Kelvin Heights.

WHO: I'm Alessandro Bordon, 27 years old, from Brazil.  I'm in Queenstown to study English and I'm working at Bidvest (food distributor). I am planning to travel NZ soon and I am really looking forward to starting my trip.

WHAT BRINGS YOU TO THE QUEENSTOWN TRAIL? Queenstown Trail by bike is the best and easiest way to get around Queenstown,it is beautiful, safe, easy in terms of ride ability, and you always find a part of the trail near you. So, you just need to start riding and follow the signs.

WHY? In the beginning, when I arrived here, I used to ride around the area to get to know Queenstown and the places around. I was exploring my new home. After getting to know all the trails, I started using to commute from home to work and getting some exercise with my girlfriend and friends.

WHERE ARE YOU RIDING/WALKING? I usually ride the Frankton Road part, when I'm coming back home or going to town (I live in Frankton Rd.). Or the other side of Frankton Arm (towards Kelvin Heights), is my favourite part. All the Queenstown Trails are amazing. Highlights for me are the Arrow River Trail, Twin Rivers Trail and Gibbstown Valley section.

WHAT BIKE ARE YOU RIDING? GT Avalanche 3.0 (hard tail)

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE QUEENSTOWN TRAIL? To be honest, I rode only the Queenstown Trails, so it is my favourite and the ones near Queenstown (Sunshine Bay). As I don't have car, I have difficulty getting to other further trails.
